Christmas Gifts: Books for the Fashionista

There are 3 great books out there this holiday season, that one can either purchase for a fellow fashionista for Christmas, or books one can ask to receive, for themselves this holiday season!

I know I wouldn't mind owning them!

#1
AUDREY 100

This recently published book is my favorite from the bunch!  Who doesn't love Audrey Hepburn?  And what fashionista hasn't been inspired by Audrey in one way or another?  Read the product information offered by Amazon:

"Loved by countless adoring fans-and the camera-Audrey Hepburn is an icon, an actress, and humanitarian whose beauty and elegance will never go out of style. This luxe, high-end compilation, produced under license with the Hepburn estate, features 100 of the most compelling and iconic photographs ever taken of the glamorous star-timeless images by such greats as such greats as Sir Cecil Beaton, Douglas Kirkland, Norman Parkinson, and Philippe Halsman. In addition, the book includes an 9" x 11" removable print, suitable for personal framing, that's sure to be cherished by any Hepburn admirer.

Audrey's family has compiled these 100 stunning images as a tribute to the Hollywood sweetheart. Paying strict attention to aesthetic beauty, artistic expression, and personal significance, they have lovingly selected these photographs to represent the qualities Hepburn herself stood for throughout her life and career. "
So who doesn't want this book?!  I know I could spend hours looking at iconic pictures of Audrey, and what a great tool to use to help guide one's style, or help inspire??  Amazon is selling this hardcover book for only $23.32!!  I was at Barnes and Noble the other day, and I believe it was at least priced at $40!  So if you're in need of purchasing this book for someone, or just for yourself, be sure to click here.

LAUREN CONRAD: STYLE

Most of you know I really love Lauren Conrad's girly and chic style!  Now she has come out with her own book to help those in need of a few pointers or useful ideas on being stylish!  Amazon's description really explains it better than I can:
"You've seen Lauren Conrad on TV and red carpets, looking fabulous whether she's going casual for a day with friends or dressed for a night out. Now Lauren reveals how you can adapt her classic, understated style for yourself.

In her first-ever style guide, Lauren offers tips on how to create your own unique look, shares her favorite sources of inspiration, and identifies the absolute must-haves for any fashionista's wardrobe. Along the way, she examines her fashion evolution, from California-casual teen to camera-ready style icon and clothing designer.

From beauty advice and hair secrets to how to shop vintage or find the perfect T-shirt, Lauren Conrad Style unlocks the mysteries of being effortlessly chic. With Lauren's guidance, you'll look and feel stylish every day."
I'm sure most fans of Lauren or the show The Hills, would love to take a look at this style guide!  Know anybody who does?  Be sure to purchase this book for them.  You can buy it here for just under $12!  Not a bad price for a Christmas gift, right?

#3
GAGA

Gaga has certainly made statements with her style in the past couple of years, some good, some bad, either way, most people do find her intriguing.  When she walks into a room, one can't help but stare!

Many books have already been released about her, but this one, being the most recent, offers the best insight into the real Lady Gaga.  Amazon's description:
"A book that's as eye-catching, over-the-top, and fabulous as Lady Gaga herself!

The Grammy® Award-winning Lady Gaga has taken the world by storm, setting sales records and becoming a style icon. This lavish volume examines the Lady's history and phenomenal rise, her music and videos, and her unique look and chameleon-like nature. Chock-full of photos that capture Gaga from childhood through stardom, it also includes images of those who have influenced her style and an appraisal of her place in the pantheon of performance artists.

Gaga is a must-have for the millions who love this very special performer and celebrity."
Although, this isn't a must have for me, I do like some of the looks Lady Gaga has come up with, and I know many of you out there, have as well.  To purchase this book, simply click here.  This book is priced just below $17.

What do you think?  Are any of you interested in these books?  Will you purchasing any for someone else this holiday season?  Or might you be asking to receive one of these yourself, for Christmas?  Any other fashion forward books out there that you have your eyes on?  I'd love to hear about other chic books out there!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Are You A Hairy Girl?

No it's not what you think!

I'm interested to know if any of you are lovers of the new trend popping up on heels, clothes and bags.  Any of you wanting to get hairy??

Take these Yves Saint Laurent shoes for example:

The full fledged hairy ones will cost you $1,070!  Would you take the plunge??

Between just adding hair to random items and using faux fur or even real fur, being hairy seems to be pretty popular for fall.

The runway had a huge array of furry/hairy items in the fall 2010 shows:

How about Altuzarra's take on the runway:

Lanvin was definitely going all out as well!

Roland Mouret had an interesting twist on this trend:

Versace decided to use a pop of color!

Giorgio Armani wasn't afraid of color either:

Balenciaga's used odd placing for an eye catching look.

Chanel had it's way with this trend as well.  Check out those shaggy boots!!

Celebrity whose embraced being out right hairy:

Non other than Lady Gaga, who over the past year has sported hairy items a time or two.  Take a look:

Here she is head to toe in hair!

What do you girls think?  Will you add "hair extensions" to your shoes or handbags?  Or buy a sweater or coat for fall with faux fur or hair added??  Is this a trend you see yourself being a part of?  Or possibly running in the opposite direction?!

I myself, am not too impressed with this look.  I'm sure some may look pretty sporting this look, but I know it's just not for me!  I'm definitely not a Hairy/Furry Girl!!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful afternoon!

Lady Like No Other

So I was feeling inspired by Lady Gaga while on Polyvore. I hope you like these sets! Her style is wacky and unique, bold and yet sometimes girly . I thought these pieces seemed like her style. What do you think? Did I get these right? And of course she is notorious for her gloves!!

She's A Lady
She's A Lady by DreamyGirl22 featuring Miss Selfridge belts

So still getting settled in our new home! Painting takes forever, and gets tiresome but we are very happy though! It's nice knowing that this house belongs to us, we can decorate it however we went, unlike at the apartment. It's also the place we will one day raise our kids. It's unbelievable to think about. Thankfully we have been blessed with being able to buy a home in this economy, God has been looking out for us. I hope you too feel blessed in one way or another in your life. Look for the good things, life isn't always easy, that's for sure, but most of us have it easier then a lot people out there, and we shouldn't take that for granted! Be thankful for the jobs you have, because so many people would love to have a stable pay check but aren't fortunate enough. Be thankful for the roof above your head, as many people out there seek refuge in places we would never sleep in......
Just be happy and gracious and kindhearted, reach out to those in need, because you never know when you might be the person in need of a helpful hand

I didn't intend to go into that, I guess it was just something on my mind. Quite a turn from Lady Gaga!

Rock the Mens-Wear and Yet Embrace Your Girly Side

Hello girls! I was recently checking out www.elle.com and came across a few good finds. Have you seen Jamie King in any magazine spreads for a while? I know I haven't seen this model turned actress do any fashion spreads for quite some time. So I thought I would show you a few of the pictures from her menswear-inspired photo shoot from EllE

What do you think?

I also noticed they had an article about how to dress like a Gossip Girl (the college years) Just a glimpse into what their style is going to be this season was great! Don't these girls look amazing??

I just wanted to highlight a few items that Elle suggested. These are the ones that really captivated my attention.

First this Valentino tote! Isn't this sparkly goodness just fabulous? Price tag: $4,695! So this won't be a purchase this blogger will be making any time soon, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Next, are these cute Chloe suede lace-up ankle boots. Price tag: $695! Would you spend that kind of money on shoes? I couldn't let myself to that!! And say that I had, I don't think I would ever wear them, in fear that I would ruin them some how, and then all that money would be down the drain.....lol

This next one, is from Anna Sui, it's a playsuit. Price tag: $515 I thought this was pretty and fun, this one was under Serena's wardrobe ideas.

I also wanted to mention Lady Gaga's outfit below. Besides the sunglasses, Her whole outfit is from Marc Jacobs 2010 collection. Sunglasses are from Alexander Wang. Although I wouldn't wear that much ruffles this outfit isn't so bad, in fact it's tame in comparison to what she normally puts together. I like the golds shades!

Well, I better get going for today, believe it or not I really am trying to keep this blog updated, but sadly I can't find too much free time to do so! But again, I will try to do better! I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful day!

What's your reaction?

Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale, both center stage ready. Who do you think looks better? I think Miley pulled her look off, and looks great. Her hair looks great, and I'm loving the boots, although I'm sure they can get quite warm after a while!
I like Ashley's brown hair, but I'm not liking this outfit! Those shorts are terrible looking! Too short and with the white part sticking out like that, it looks unattractive! Normally I don't have a problem with what she wears! But no way am I liking this! What do you think?
What about Taylor Momsen? Are you liking this look?? Her makeup and hair doesn't look too intense, like it normally does, which is nice.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry
Lady Gaga, what were you thinking?? Her chest is really up and out there! lol I'm not liking this look, it's just too much! which I know she normally does have very unusual outfits anyway, but this one is one of the worst. I do like the shade of gold though!
Katy Perry looks like she's going to go for a swim but she's on stage. It's cute if it were actually worn to go swimming! Any thoughts??

Emma Watson
Pretty dress, but what do you think about an umbrella being used like an accessory here??

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!
