Birthday Recap!

So here's a birthday recap!

As most of you know my birthday was on Monday!  Thank you all for all the sweet birthday comments!!  I especially want to thank the HiFashion girl's who sent out this cute birthday card!!!  It was a pleasant surprise receiving it in the mail!!  Thank you so much Sherin and Leia!!

I don't know about you, but there's just something special about receiving something fun in the mail, something that stands out from the rest of the junk mail or bills.....something specially meant for you!  It definitely puts a smile on my face!!

I got a bunch of sweet cards this year!    And a lot of Junior Mints as well!  When it comes to chocolate candies there are a lot I can't have.  Sadly in the last couple of years I've actually developed a nut allergy!  For any of you who deal with this as well, you know how hard it is to find a chocolate you can actually have!  A lot of chocolate bars/candy say : may contain traces of nuts, or processed on the same equipment as nuts, even though the chocolate itself isn't supposed to have nuts in it!  It's crazinesss! lol   Thankfully if I do eat some type of nut, I don't think I will die or anything, it's not that serious.  I just break out in red dots that itch, my eyes swell shut and my lips swell up!  I also get sick to my stomach!  Ok, enough about that fun stuff, right?  haha Well, now you girls know!  Thankfully there are some few chocolates around here that I can still indugle in every now and then.  Like Junior Mints and Andes Mints.  Do any of you girls have allergies?

Here's an outfit post, of a new dress I got from birthday money!  I had my eye on this dress ever since it came out!  Lauren Conrad has an affordable clothing line at Kohl's.  With items ranging from around $20-$60.  Check it out here.  And here is the dress I bought from the line:

And yes my legs are in fact that white!

My mom's boyfriend, who made me the Chanel cake last year, surprised me with this delicious cake:

Other birthday gifts:
A pair of Vera Wang black heels!!  SO amazing, I will show you all soon!
A pair of pants part skinny jeans, part denim legging called The Pencil from Lauren Conrad's line
Gift Card
Money
A cute top, that I will wear soon!
Two pairs of earrings
A extremely tasty dinner, that my husband treated me to the night of my birthday
I think that's pretty much it, well, except, the biggest thing of all!!!!
MY HAIR MAKEOVER!!

Oh my girls, this was definitely an adventure!  I went to a salon that I hadn't been to before.  What I wanted done was an outrageous price at the salon I normally go to for a haircut, so I ventured out of my comfort zone and looked for a place more reasonably priced!!  I wanted my hair cut, colored, and highlighted.  My normal salon would have charged me $140!  That's too much, in my opinion!  The place I ended up going only charged me $50, so a way better deal! I had heard good things about this place, but still was nervous.

My appointment was at 1:30 and I didn't get out of there until 6:00p.m.!!!  4 and 1/2 hours at the salon!  Terribly long, and boring!  Also my hair stylist, even though I brought in pictures of what I wanted done, misunderstood what I wanted, and I didn't figure it out until half way through the process!!  I wanted all around color, a shade like a dark chocolate brown, with caramel highlights throughout.  I thought that would be a big change, without chopping my hair at this time.  We picked out the right colors in the book, but she thought I wanted those two shades as just alternating highlights throughout my blonde hair!!!!  Yes girls, that's right!  So this is what she decided to do to fix it, after blow drying my hair after the highlights, she mixed up an even darker shade, and said she was going to put that shade in as chunky highlights, vs. the thinner ones she just did, so I would appear to have all over darker shade, and my highlights we had just did would still stick through, and hopefully look like caramel highlights!  By the time I was done my "dark brown" all over color is black!!!

And my highlights you can still see, not as good as I wanted though, and my over all hair is super dark!  I never wanted black hair.  It's darker than I wanted.  I think if the lady understood me right the first time, she was capable of doing a good job, she just didn't understand, in time.....
I wanted a big change and this definitely is......Not that anything is wrong with black hair, I think girls look stunning with black locks,  I just know it's probably not the best shade for me, especially with my ghostly complexion! You've seen my legs above, right? lol

I will unveil my hair soon, I 'm trying to get some good pictures that really show the color well.  I haven't officially decided if I like it or not.  I'm leaning more towards not liking it.  My husband said it was different from what he was expecting but that it still looks good.  Other people have pretty much said the same thing.  But it always makes me wonder if they are only saying that to be nice! I can't decide if I should let this play out a bit longer, or put some caramel highlights in myself, to help it not look so drastic! Or maybe I will just wear a wig like this:

Well, that's all I can post right now, but there will be more info about my birthday, my hair, and the usual stuff.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!!

Awww Happy Birthday! :)

Hope you had an awesome one! :)

I love your dress! It looks really cute on you especially with your skin color!

and I totally understand. it gets frustrating when they misunderstand what hairstyle you want. :/

I had an incident before, when I told the salon lady to cut only like 2 inches off my hair, but she totally cut it really short! it was crazy! she was an old lady though and I didn't want to get mad at her. She was just doing her job. so it was okay. :)

ps. besides I would never really yell at anyone. :)

Yeah! Happy Birthday Tasha! I love that you went brown even though it didn't work out quite like you wanted! You can get color to lighten up by washing your hair in Lemon Juice...or Panteen (I think Panteen is the right one.) And also just with the more washes the lighter it will be. It may take like a week.

I LOVE LC! I recently discovered her! I love love love her and wanted that dress! I got the skirt though that is pink and ruffly...and love it!
I still can't wait to see a picture of you hair and happy birthday!!!!!!!

I really like your dress! It's sad to hear that the hairdressers didn't do what you asked...
I also wanted to wish you a (belated) happy birthday!
