I'm trying to be more consist with these outfit posts. I feel kind of blah today though, so please bare with me. This gray cardigan is new from Forever 21. I actually ordered it online. It was the first time I had ever bought off their website. I was very lucky though, all four items fit perfectly! The cardigan was just what I was looking for. Something soft and loose. I also wanted it to go with almost anything. And it really does! I can wear it with dressier things or wear it casual like I'm doing so today!
The green tank is from a previous visit to Forever 21, and the tan tank top underneath was from my online purchase. Jeans are bongo. Earrings: Forever 21 Goofy expression: brought to you by me!
I never now what to do while I'm poising for pictures my husband is taking! I feel like a nerd!
Oh, by the way, I've never purchased a pair of skinny jeans before. I know it's crazy! But I really want to! I feel since I'm only 5'3 my bootcut jeans sort of make me look stubby and I want to avoid that. Also the last time I bought jeans was a few months ago and they are bit baggy since I've lost some more weight since then. So any suggestions on where to buy? Remember not too expensive please!
Well, I better get going! I will be back to all your lovely blogs on Tuesday!! Thanks for stopping by The Hot Spot!
Oh, although this will be posted on Valentine's day. It's just a scheduled post. So this is not what I will actually be wearing on Valentine's day....... I will dress up better then this!!! :)
So this outfit is really nothing too spectacular so sorry if I got your hopes up!
Black t-shirt: forever 21 eagle tank: forever 21 jeans: bongo black headband: can't remember!
The tank top is so comfortable and loose. I love how it's not restricting. It may make me appear bigger than I really am though. At least some days I feel like that!
Anyway, sorry to make this quick but that's all for now. Also, I would still love to hear from you about what improvements you think The Hot Spot might try. I will be checking out your blogs soon I promise!!
So about a week ago I found these lovely heels on sale at Payless for only $9! I couldn't resist! I know I won't be able to wear them quite yet since there is still tons of snow on the ground, but I'm looking forward to spring, when I can break out all my heels once again!!
I tend to like fake animal skin.... like snake skin, alligator...etc. on purses and heels! Do you girls like the look of snake skin or alligator?
Also, I'm kind of thinking about getting a new template for the blog. What do you think should I rearrange and try a different look or keep it the same? If you think I should change what websites do you go to for free templates? I don't want to spend any money.
Besides maybe a new template, what other items do you think should be added to The Hot Spot? I know some of you are part of bloglovin and independent fashion bloggers. Would you suggest I sign up for those as well? I'm just trying to expand a bit since I've hit the one year mark and I'm looking for the best ways to do so. I figured the best way to find out how would be through all of you!
So let me know what you think! Have a wonderful day!!
So here are some answers to your questions, and more details about me.
Name: Tasha Where I'm from: Indiana, US Age: 23, will be 24 in April
Getting Personal:
My husband's name is Tim. I met him at work actually! I started working there in October of 2003. We started out as friends and got to know each other well before any romantic stuff happened! I must admit I thought he was cute from the beginning! I'm quite shy though and he claims he thought he would never have a chance with me! He eventually got the courage to ask me out on our first date, which that I'm so thankful for! Tim and I officially became "boyfriend and girlfriend" on February 5th 2005 after dating a little over a month.
He proposed in late summer of 2007 after we had been dating about 2 and half years. He had taken me one state over to Ohio to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For those of you who don't know, I'm a huge Elvis Presley fan. So it was amazing to go to a place that has iconic Elvis memorabilia as well as other great singers and band's stuff. Anyway, we looked around for a few hours and then we were just were about to leave and Tim told me we needed to go back to something he forgot to show me. So we went back to where Elvis' family bible was on display and he got down on one knee in front of a whole ton of people and asked me to marry him!!! It was so sweet and well planned!
We got married July 5th 2008 at an outdoor park that was on a lake. We had around 150 people there. It was a gorgeous summer day that will forever hold an extremely special place in my heart. Click hereto see an older post with tons of pictures from my wedding and more information on the big day!! By the way, my husband's birthday is September 5th 1983 and I was born April 5th 1986. Have you noticed a trend here? Five is our lucky number! It makes things easier on my husband. All he has to remember is the month!
When we got married, Tim left behind his one bedroom apartment and moved into my two bedroom apartment that I had lived in alone since March of 2005. We lived there up until this past October. Tim and I were fortunate enough to buy our first home. Now, it's not a mansion, by any means, but we love it and are so grateful for what God has blessed us with! It's a 4 bedroom 1 and 1/2 baths on half an acre. It's not a brand new home or anything, but it's HOME.
JOB:
My husband and I both work full time at the same job still. I won't say specifically where we work, but just that Tim and I are both in manager positions. Some of the people we are in charge over are difficult to work with at times, which makes for a frustrating work day. But in this economy we are just grateful to have a job that pays well enough and is full time.
Fashion:
My favorite place to shop is definitely Forever 21. It's not too pricey which is exactly what I need. I can still have fashionable clothes without outrageous price tags!!
My favorite thing in my closest right now: well that is a toss up between my new cardigan and new lace top both of which I ordered off of Forever 21's website and will have an outfit post about very soon!! Also, I can't forget my beloved Chanel purse!! You can really never go wrong with Chanel! This picture doesn't even do it justice!
As well as being a fan of Chanel, I usually love Blumarine too! Like these dresses from their Spring/summer 2010 collection. The colors are stunning!
Other Interests:
I'm also a huge fan of Twinning's tea. It's the best brand in my opinion! English Breakfast is my favorite amongst them right now, but it always changes!!
Since being married though my husband has turned me into a coffee drinker too!! But of course I have to have fun flavored creamers to go along with it!! Like this for example!
White Chocolate Raspberry! It's one of our favorites, sadly it only comes out during the holiday season!! It's amazingly tasty though!!
Brief mentions of other interests: -books: I absolutely love to read. You can see all my favorites listed on my profile. I can easily get lost in a book for days on end! -Audrey Hepburn: Style icon
Well, I suppose that's all for now, let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know more about! Have a wonderful day ladies!!
So this is my first outfit post with my new camera that I had got for Christmas! Sorry to took so long, I didn't get a memory card until a couple of weeks ago, and then I have just been to busy to take any pictures.
The outfit is pretty simple. It's a new black sweater I recently got from Forever 21. It's so amazingly soft, that's one of the reasons I bought it. Plus I've been trying to by more simple pieces here lately. Since I can't afford to go shopping so often since my husband and I are now home owners, when I do go shopping I want to find pieces that will go with more then one thing. This black sweater I can just wear with jeans or pair it with a fun skirt. It's versatile.
Also, my favorite thing about it is the unexpected back.
I love the slits in it. It's a simple detail, but yet I'm in love with it!
Here's some closeups. These earrings are also new. I think they were under $4! So you can't beat that!
I don't know what kind of expression this is! Who knows what I was thinking! lol
My hair is getting pretty long. And of course I'm getting antsy with it. Like always. This is the longest I've ever gone with out getting a major haircut. I like the long hair, but I also like change. The problem is once I cut it shorter it takes forever to grow back out! I'm not fortunate enough to have hair that grows fast!
Sweater: Forever 21 Earrings: Forever 21 Jeans: Bongo Pink heels: Wild Diva from Deb (By the way, I didn't actually wear the pink heels outside since weather is dreadful here, with tons of snow and slick spots, it would be crazy for me to wear them outside! Oh, I can't wait for spring!)
Well, that's all for now girls! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
A year has gone by so quickly! Blogspot was just something I read about in a magazine, and I was instantly intrigued by it! It's been a great way for this small town girl to reach out into the world of fashion. I can't truly express how happy this blog has made me. The friendships made through blogger have definitely been the best part of it all!
I never quite expected to meet so many kind and genuinely lovely young ladies on here! And through a common love of fashion, I feel as though we have bonded! That is why I would love to pass out this award, made to celebrate The Hot Spot's first year!
We may have been friends on here for a while now, or just recently have gotten to know each other a bit, but in one way or another each of you have touched my life in a special way, and I just want to thank you!
I would also love to open up more with all my lovely followers! A year has gone by and I realize that some of you may not know much about me personally. So what would you girls like to know? Please post your questions as comments on this post and I will do my best to answer all of them as part of celebrating my year blog anniversary and starting out the second year right! Whether you've been following me for a while now, or are just a newbie, I'm sure you can think of something to ask. Feel free to ask more than one question. The more the better!
Well, that is all for now, but I hope you have an amazing day!!
Do you girls ever feel like doing that to the scale?? I think at one point or another we all have. It's hard for one to achieve their ideal weight, and once one is there it’s hard to stay there! I'm sure you know what I mean, especially in today's society where most celebs are thin and "beautiful", we feel as though we need to look like them, to be pretty. Have you ever seen a certain celeb and thought to yourself, that's what I need to look like, and if I did I would be beautiful? Is there a certain celebrity out there that gives you that feeling every time you see her?
I myself, have struggled recently with being happy with my body. Not that I’ve ever been anorexic or bulimic, thankfully I haven’t had that problem to deal with, but ever since a few months back when I got on this kick about eating healthy and losing some of those extra unwanted pounds, I became practically obsessed with food. Here in the past couple weeks or so it’s improved somewhat. But it’s like my mind is constantly thinking about food, My mind always runs a mile a minute anyway, it seems it never takes a break, but it had gotten to the point where I would be watching tv and my mind would be focused on some type of food that was calling to me from the refrigerator even though I wasn’t really hungry and it would take a lot of will power for me to resist.
I did well over the last few months though and lost 20 pounds.I hadn’t even realized I had been gaining weight since I got married, it just caught up on me, an one day I noticed, hey I have some extra weight on me, where’d that come from?Twenty pounds was more than I was expecting to lose and now I’m the smallest I’ve really ever been. Now, I weigh 106 or 107 depending on the day. It’s really hard for me to outright say how much I weigh. And constantly watching your weight takes a toll on you mentally.I don’t know if this even makes any sense.I sure hope it does.I’m only telling a little bit of how things have been so maybe some of you can relate.I know it’s not uncommon for us women to have some sort of issue with our body. But we should learn to be happy with our body and embrace what makes us different from others. We really are all beautiful in our own way, there’s nobody just like you!You are special, and don’t take that as something cheesy, you really are something special. And you should embrace it!It’s something I have to remind myself everyday. I know it’s easy to say, just not easy to actually practice.
What makes you different from others? What is your least favorite thing about yourself?More importantly what is your favorite thing about yourself??Let that outweigh the bad.
My least favorite thing about my body is my height.I’m only 5’3.I always think if I was just like 4 or 5 inches taller, it would be so much easier for me weight wise, and I would be so much more content with my body.I would have the nice lean look that the models have. And everything would look good on me!I would have those super skinny legs rather than having these short legs that on some days, the really bad ones, I look in the mirror and think “Oh, my legs look so stubby!!!”Thankfully heels help with that somewhat.I always feel more confident in my heels.Although, living in Indiana where winter is really icy and slick, I have to take a break from wearing heelsduring this time, which is unfortunate!I just can’t wait for spring!
What gets me though about my weight right now is 106 or even a couple of pounds heavier seems like a small amount of weight, seriously much lower would be dangerous right? Then why when I look at myself in the mirror do I feel fat?Like my belly is sticking out?Or my arms are chunky?I don’t get it.My husband thinks I’m crazy. He thinks I should eat whatever I want all the time and he claims I should gain a couple pounds. But is he just saying that because that’s what he feels he should be saying?I don’t know.Guys don’t seem to understand the struggles woman have with body image. They can’t help it, their mind just doesn’t run the same way as ours does.Anyway, what do you girls think is a healthy weight for my height 5’3?I’m curious to see what you girls think.I bet there will be a wide range of replies.
Now, what’s my favorite thing about my body?Sadly that’s a tough one.Isn’t it crazy how much easier it is to pinpoint the bad things about yourself, but harder to see the better things?Well, these days I really like the length of my hair. It’s the longest I’ve ever had it, because usually I get so antsy and I have to cut it and have a change!I’ve been patient though and I’ve let it grow. But of course, I have the occasional bad hair day, like everyone else, where my hair just won’t do what it’s supposed to! Lol Also, I’m not trying to be conceded in anyway, but I don’t think my face is all that ugly for lack of a better word. Most days I look in the mirror after putting on my makeup and think I am in fact a pretty girl.On the other days, the bad ones, I think my face looks chunky. Ah, life. It’s never perfect.
Anyway, I’m hoping you girls have some good feedback from this post!I want to see the number of comments soar!!I know the issue of body weight/image is something we all have an opinion on and I want to hear yours.
Super Skinny Models that do not help at all with body image issues! Scary skinny....
