The Trench Coat & An Oldie Outfit Post

Hey girls!  How has your week been?  We've had some pretty nasty weather here!  Work was even canceled Wednesday!  That never happens!  But I'm back to work..  Wasn't it great when we were younger and in school, and had those snow days!   Oh how I loved those!  How about you?

On another note, I got a Kohl's gift card for Christmas and have yet to use it so I have been looking online to see what new items Lauren Conrad's collection has.  I usually love her stuff.  I came across a lovely spring colored trench coat!

I love how the shade is different from what you would expect for a trench coat!  And it gets me so in the mood for spring!  I've never owned a trench coat before, but it's one of those things I've always wanted.  I've wanted a basic camel/tan shade for a long time.  That's what I've always had in mind.

Think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's:

And although, I still think that look is fabulous, I wouldn't mind having a sort of robin egg blue shade trench coat!  Would you?  It also happens to be on sale at Kohls.com right now for $57.99, originally $84.  So be sure to check it out here.

I was looking through my flash drive and noticed I never shared this with you girls!  As you can tell, it was taken in a dressing room....... :)  A few months ago actually, when I was looking for a winter coat, I came across this cute trench coat from H & M.  It was somewhere around $30, and although I was really torn, I didn't end up buying it.  It just wasn't practical to buy right then, with being in the beginning of a bitter cold winter, and really needing a thicker warmer coat, I couldn't validate getting this one as well.......

Do you ever come across cute clothes, but end up walking away from them, because it's not what you need at the time, or you know you shouldn't be spending money on that right now?

Also, do any of you own a trench?  If so, what shade is yours??  A traditional one?  Or a bolder color?
Love to know!  And I hope you all are having a lovely start to your weekend!

* I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who left such encouraging comments on the blog this last week!  It was so appreciated!  Thank you!  Monday didn't end up being the "finale" of it all.  It's so hard to explain, but our family will be finding out more on February 16th.  So we will just have to wait and see.  But I can't tell you all how much your uplifting comments and prayers meant to me! :)

I've got a trench even though I bet it's too small, haha! it's beautiful and a lovely very nude tone, quite classic.

Hey Tasha!

I've never owned a trench coat. I've never come across one that I really love. And yes, there have been plenty of times where I have walked away from an item that I love because it just wouldn't be right to buy it--usually a pair of shoes!
This blue trench would look great on you! Go for it!

Oh well I did that! Once being on holidays with my friends I found an amazing pair of jeans, they were so gorgeous & were on sale for only $15 & I didn't buy them.. for now days I regret it, hah!
A friend of mine has the same coat from H&M. I think it looks gorgeous & wasn't expensive at all :) but as you said for our winters we need something more cozy for sure :D

Oh my goodness, you should totally purcahse that trench coat. Although I will always love the tan color as you do, I think that color is so incredible and feminine!

I've always been so jealous of everyone who gets snow days, but then again I live in sunny So Cal where all winter the lowest (day time) temps have dipped only into the 50s. So I guess I'd rather be warm year round. I hope you are staying warm!

I love that teal trench! Way cute! I own one in black from H&M. The style is sort of Jackie O with 3/4 sleaves. I need to start wearing it more!

gotta love a good trench..that LC one is so cute for spring! I had a light green one from the gap that i LOVED but i left it hanging in the sun all summer and it got bleached!! maybe i should get that LC one...hmmm :)

The neutral coloured trench really suits you! I think something like a trench is an clasic piece, so you know that it won't go out of style. But I agree: sometimes you just don't need something.
The blue one looks fantastic. I think that would be a great colour to get and the coat would last lots of seasons.

Ahh, sorry to hear that Monday didn't end everything. Hope the finale will be good news.

Honestly, a trench coat is such a staple in any wardrobe. It's a timeless piece! Your trench coat looks great with your coloring...and this post is making me want spring to hurry up and get here quicker!

Ahhhhh Spring clothing! I love the green color of this trench! I recently bought a pink trench coat for spring in the Jan sales, and cant wait to wear it - so sick of this cold, wet weather! And yes! Being a sophoholic, I quite often see things and think "I HAVE to have that!" but ive become quite good at walking away and if I still like it just as much a week later…I let myself buy it!

Concerning trench coats, I always prefer the classic one, or a navy shade. They look great with everything!

I've always loved the classic camel trench a la Holly Golightly but this colored one is such a fun variation!
