The Power of Love and Snow Cones!

So as some of you know I got married in July.....I thought I should give you readers a glimpse into the most important day of this blogger's life......so here you all go:

pictured above two of my bridesmaids the one on the left was my maid of honor! It was an outdoor wedding at a local park. Pink being my favorite color, you can see why I chose these dresses from David's Bridal! They fell a little past the knee I think.....which was perfect for a day in July! Thankfully it was a perfect day, weather wise and everything else!

Pictured below of course, is my husband Tim! Doesn't he look so handsome! :) I'm a proud wife! And there we are cutting the cake, which my grandma made for free....cake can be so expensive! The place in town would have charged $2 a slice, and with 150 so people.....that's too much money on cake! lol

More wonderful pictures of us on the big day.....I shouldn't have to tell you what we are doing on the right! haha

Above, the photographer called this the cupcake pose which I thought was fun....on the right is Tim's grandma playing the wedding music and Tim's cousin handling the pages of music....I love what the photographer did with this picture......making the yellow of her dress stand out!
Below is an adorable picture of my ring bearer....we had a snow cone stand set up for people to enjoy during the reception....and here he is with his...I can't tell if he is sad about it or just in deep thought...either way he's so cute...and again I love the coloring in this picture!

Here's a picture of us with the pastor above as well as me with the bridesmaids in mostly black and white!!! So I hope you like this pictures! It was the perfect day for this blogger, and the marriage so far is wonderful!! We are very happy! Oh, and I forgot to mention I got my weddingCheck Spelling dress from David's Bridal, it was the first dress I tried on, and the 2nd time I tried it on I got teary eyed...so I knew this was it. I was trying to remember the price....I know I got it on sale, and for a discounted price because they were discontinuing the design...hmmm...I think somewhere between $300-$400 was what I paid,...I will have to get back to you on that! lol
So what do you all think of these pictures? Any of you married?

Confusion and Happiness!

I just want to start out by saying how happy I am for all the comments I've received!!!!! It's encouraging to see that some people are actually reading some of my blog!! That's fantastic! Quick question tho....a few of you have said you will add me to your list, but as of now I'm seeing on my blog that I have no followers? Is something wrong with my blog? What do you all see? If you could let me know that would be wonderful!!

By the way, all your comments were very sweet! They made my day!
Hope you all are having just as good of a day as me! :)

Walk This Way

These are pictures of my heels....oh, how I love to wear them.....being 5'3 it's always great to add some height.....and give the illusion of being tall....
Black sparkly heels ( which have been thru a lot ) are Candies from Kohl's
Pink heels above are from Deb, got them for $8 on sale!!!!

Pink plaid heels above are from Deb also....don't be fooled with the candies sign in the background.......and can you believe I was lucky enough to get those for $8 too on the same day as the other pink heels shown!!!!

Now these beauties are Candies from Kohl's....I love these heels....after watching the Sex and the City movie I was inspired to find a pair similar to a pair Carrie wears in the film, these were the closest pair I could find in my budget! In my opinion they are amazing!!!
So what do you think? Any of them your style???

Whoa Whoa Whoa.....I got some new stuff!!

New Sunglasses from Charlotte Russe! Two for 10 bucks! It was a good deal. I was just planning on getting the black pair with the leopard print on the side but when I went to pay the lady told me they were on sale 2 for $10 so why not? I've never owned a pink pair of glasses before....which is surprising since that's my favorite color.....but anyway, I like the zebra stripes on the side so I thought I'd give them a try.
Pictured below are two of my favorite new things: An Apt. 9 purse from Kohl's I got a few weeks ago, and my new wallet I purchased at Forever 21 yesterday. I haven't had a wallet in years, but I desperately needed one to be better organized, you can't even believe how much room is in the wallet, and let alone the new purse!! And the purse I got 50% off...I caught Kohl's on a good day...that's for sure....
I'm really into the alligator skin look...as you can see here! :) and of course it's fake

Followers

So I've been posting on other people's blogs trying to get to know some people on here. I really want this to work out.....it's gotta start with some followers tho...and I'm afraid there just aren't any. Well, I guess for now, I'm doing this just for me, and I'm ok with that.

So my husband and I went to the mall today. I got to do a little bit of shopping. I got a new wallet from Forever 21 for $9.50( which I haven't used a wallet in years), it goes perfect with my purse I got a few weeks ago from Kohls. Pictures of the both to appear shortly. I also got two pairs of awesome sunglasses from Charlotte Russe for 10 bucks total. I purchased a couple other things things too, it was fun. We havent's been to the mall in a while. I got to eat some Chick-fila too!! I absolutely love Chick-fila, and of course, like most of my favorite places, we don't have in town! :( So it's always a treat when I get to eat there! They have the best waffle fries and their sweet tea is amazing!! So, yeah I know I live a pretty exciting life! haha But I'm happy. You see I just got married July 5th, so I'm enjoying my life as a newlywed! My husband is the most amazing person. His name is Tim. We've been together a little over 4 years now, and I can't imagine my life without him.....

So there you have it, a little glimpse into my world......stay tuned......

try some polynesian sauce while your at it!! :)

Black and White

Me having fun in black and white

Introduction of this blogger

So this is me, with my forever 21 leopard cardigan, New York Express belt, (which I got for $3.99 marked down from $22.99), and jeans from Deb.

I've always thought of myself as stylish, but now I'm really trying to try new things with my wardrobe, incorporate different pieces I wouldn't normally do. It's hard being from a small town where there's not much reason to dress up, but I'm past that, I don't need a reason anymore to dress up, I do it for me....it makes me feel good when I've pulled an awesome new outfit off, and it doesn't hurt to get complimented either...lol

I would have never wore animal print before but about a month and a half ago, I was shopping at my favorite store Forever 21 and saw this amazing leopard cardigan, and just had to have it, even though it's nothing like what I'm used to wearing and that was part of the thrill!

Let's just say that shopping trip was fantastic, I found some other good finds....a navy blue button down, with little hooks on both sides....this shirt can be worn so many ways....my favorite is with the same belt pictures above simply around it, or the shirt tucked into a navy blue pencil skirt that has a little bow in the front of it....all good finds from Forever 21 minus the belt....

Watch out for Barbie! She just turned 50!

Barbie isn't what she used to be that's for sure. Growing up I was much into my barbies, dressing them up in cool clothes and having fun just styling them. Of course, being almost 23 those days are over, but whose to say a runway show based on Barbie wouldn't catch my eye? The show depicted Barbie from the past, present and furture. Might I say, and I will because this is my blog, that Barbie from the future was a little wacky looking. But some of the outfits and how the models were styled were amazing! I really liked the semi-short pink dress with the blue gloves. This was really a huge show and a great way to kick of fashion week!

All the designers from the show:
Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Baby Phat, Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Bob Mackie, Brian Reyes, Calvin Klein, Carmen Marc Valvo, Catherine Malandrino, Chris Benz, Costello Tagliapietra, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Erin Fetherston, House of Field, Jeremy Scott, Juicy Couture, Kai Kuhne, Kenneth Cole, Koi Suwannagate, Lyn Devon, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, Norma Kamali, Peter Som, Rachel Roy, Rag & Bone, Rebecca Taylor, Reem Acra, Robert Best, Rosa Cha, The Blonds, Three As Four, Tibi, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Tracy Reese, Trina Turk, Tuleh, Twinkle, Vena Cava, Vera Wang, Vivienne Tam, Yeohlee, and finally Yigal Azrouel.

Grammy Style

As a fan of the show The Hills, I have to mention how beautiful Audrina looked. Nothing about her outfit was over-the-top. Which has sometimes happened in her case. This dress was tasteful and looked elegant. Two thumbs up for Audrina! Carrie Underwood wowed the Grammy audience as well in a stunning gold gown. She looked fit and healthy, and just had a natural glow to her. Fellow country singer Taylor Swift also looked dazzling in a simple black dress. These ladies show you don't have to be over-the-top to catch someones attention! Something Paris Hilton knows nothing about...obviously....her dress (not sure you can refer to it as an actual dress) was not tasteful or elegant whatsoever, but sadly we've all seen worse from her.

Other mistakes on Grammy night:
  1. Paula Abdul's yellow number;
  2. Lisa Rinna's over-exposing black dress;
  3. and Bai Ling...just too much!

Notable mentions:

Miley Cyrus looked pretty in a one-shoulder Max Azria gown; Kate Beckinsale; Simon Baker minus the glasses

Out with the old and in with the new?

To fully embrace today's trends must someone dump the old styles they cling to? No, I don't think so. At least not entirely. Take for example Audrey Hepburn, what she wore back in the 50's and 60's still can be pulled off today. She was a classic beauty with classic style. Not all looks can still be seen as fashionable in today's world though, like mullets, not exactly the hippest haircut. So be careful what you try to keep around. But do take inspiration from the 50's and 60's and put your on spin on them. Adding the right accessories can make an outfit. Belts, for example, are such a great addition to almost any outfit. Not only are they helpful in making someone appear to be thinner, they can add that extra umph to a look. Now, I'm not talking about the belts people wear to hold up their pants, I'm referring to the ones that go around the mid waist. Pictures of those styles to follow. Stay tuned..............
