VINTAGE STYLE

Ok, so I'm not a Jonas Brothers fan or anything like that.  Nothing is wrong with the brothers in my opininon, I just think, at 24 years old, I'm a bit too old to be a fan.....

I am on the other hand quite impressed with this recent Teen Vogue spread of the once "It" couple.  I just like the vintage concept and feel to the photos.

I really love how Demi Lovato's hair looks throughout the shoot!  The volume at the crown looks gorgeous!

This is my favorite photo from the bunch, below:
I love her outfit!

What do you girls think.  I know Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato may not be people you normally would think about when thinking of style, but you must admit how great these photos are!!  It's interesting how one can be pleasantly surprised like this!

Have a wonderful day!

Fashionsita of The Moment: Teresa Palmer

(Wearing  Jason Wu during New York fashion week.)
I recently noticed this girl Teresa Palmer in the latest issue of Teen Vogue.  I thought some of the outfits she has been wearing lately were stunning, so  I decided to share her with all of you!  Some of you may already know who this up and coming Australian star is, but for those of you who don't know, she is going to be in the upcoming summer movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

(Right: in Jason Wu during New York fashion week)
I guess it's supposed to be a pretty huge movie.  Click here to see a trailer!
She also did a brief interview with Teen Vogue back in late February.  Click here to read more about her.

(Wearing:  Lisa Ho)

To be honest I hadn't heard of her until now, but from what I can see based off of these photos, she definitely has a great fashion sense!  Would you agree??  If so what's your favorite outfit from these particular photos?  My favorite is definitely the very first dress!!  It caught my eye immediately!! I would wear something like that! The other dresses are fabulous as well.

(Bottom: wearing Gucci in the March 2008 issue of Vogue)

Also, thank you girls for being so supportive and kind with my The Hot Spot's Seal of Approval post!  I hope to be doing more of those.  Let me know if you come across other bloggers that you think should be mentioned in these type of posts.  And I know I have several amazing bloggers to choose from amongst all my followers.  So don't be surprised if you see your blog being mentioned one day!!!  I'm sure you girls don't mind having another blogger promote you, right??  :)

Also, I'm in need of a new journal.  I only have a few pages left.  The last one I got was from Barnes and Noble, but I checked out their website and I couldn't find any new ones that really caught my eye.  Do you girls know any great online store to buy fun looking journals for a good price?  I don't like to spend a lot of money on my journals, but I don't like them to be dull looking either!  So any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Have a good Tuesday!!

Wishing for My Camera to be fixed!!!

I wanted to post Blake Lively's outfit from the premiere of Where the Wild Things Are on October 13th. This beautiful dress is Marchesa! Anyway, I think she looks stunning!

So not having my camera working is totally a bummer. I tried to use the camera that's on my laptop, and these are the pitiful pictures I came up with......

I look sad in this last picture because:

I can't even get a full outfit post because I have to be close enough to the computer to press the button to snap the picture, and of course the quality is bad......

Anyway, my hair was crimped since I had it in braids the night before.

I'm terribly sorry for these not so hot pictures, but they will have to do for now, I'm going to take my camera into the local camera store and see how much it will cost to repair, hopefully cheaper than buying a new one!

Onto something else, lately I've been reading my copy of the Teen Vogue Handbook, and it is such a fascinating read! There is a lot of useful information is this book, and I am so happy I ordered it off of Amazon. If you don't have it yet, I suggest you get it soon, especially if you are interested in a career in the fashion industry!

Oh, I want to let everybody know that I recently updated my Hottest Blog list so check out the link on the side for the most amazing blogs out there! I also want to say how happy I am to have some new followers this week! That always brings a smile to my face! Thank you so much for reading my blog! I hope to keep all of you happy with new and exciting news about fashion and all that it involves!

Broken

This is a picture of Emily DiDonato at the New York premiere of The September Issue. I just thought this model looked stunning here. I must say though I am not familiar with who she is. Do any of you know?

Here are just a few pictures from Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn's photo shoot for the latest Teen Vogue Issue. Aren't they gorgeous? Can you even tell that Jourdan is pregnant and due in December? I wouldn't have believed it by just looking at these pictures! lol

Also, have you heard about the Teen Vogue Handbook? It just came out October 5th. It's 280 pages of amazingness!

Here is Amazon's description:Product Description
TEEN VOGUE grants budding stylistas an all-access pass into the high-profile and glamorous world of fashion in THE TEEN VOGUE HANDBOOK: An Insider's Guide to Careers in Fashion.

With superb photos, interviews with industry icons such as Marc Jacobs, Bruce Weber, and Patrick Demarchelier, and six sections that include information from editors and assistants, the handbook serves as a link between the style-conscious girl and the seemingly impenetrable fashion world.

If you are interested in a career in fashion, I believe this book is just the right tool to help you get a great idea on how to start.

Anyway, yesterday I was about to take some pictures for a new outfit post, since I haven't had one in a while, and my camera won't turn on! It flashes the yellow/greenish light, which it normally does when it's turning on, but then the screen won't turn on, it is just black, and I can't take any pictures, none of the buttons will work! I can't believe it! I haven't used it for a couple of weeks because it died on me, infact it died with the zoom part of the camera still out, and I just put it back in my purse and forgot about it.....so the other day I go to use it....and it won't turn on! And of course, I replaced it with brand new batteries, while I charge the other ones! I've had this pink cannon camera for maybe 3 years, it should not be breaking down on me......

Any ideas on how to fix? Or should I sadly buy a new one? I have no idea what it costs to repair cameras....and if it is even worth it......

Well, that is all for now, be back tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!!

How To ( Brought to you by Teen Vogue)

I saw this article in the latest Teen Vogue magazine and thought this might be helpful to those of you looking to make something to wear, but needing it to be a simple enough project. I hope this works out for you! Let me know if anyone decides to do this. I'd love to see how it turns out. I myself am thinking about making this dress. Although, I can't think of what I would spell out on the shirt though. Any suggestions?? Good luck, and be creative and fun with choosing your vintage fabric!

Word Play
Sophie Buhai (left) and Lisa Mayock (right), both wearing Vena Cava, with model Nina in the T-shirt dress they created.

What You'll Need:
*three yards of vintage fabric
*A tape measure
*scissors, needle, and thread
*a white t-shirt
*felt Stick-It letters
...........................................................................................................

Step 1: Down to Size
Cut the fabric to make the skirt of the dress. For width, measure your waist and multiply that number by three. Next, cut the desired length.

Step 2: Main Squeeze
Using the needle and thread, make a running stitch across the top of the fabric, with each stitch about one-quarter inch in length. When finished, pull the stitch to shirr the skirt.

Step 3: Spell It Out
Trim the bottom of the T-shirt so that it hits your natural waist. Sew the skirt's waist to the T-shirt's bottom. Stick the letters across the front of the shirt to spell out your message.

The Results
Enjoy your new custom dress!
