I recently had my naturally blonde hair dyed brown! I had my hair stylist do it about 2 weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to it. It's a bit darker than I had wanted, but I did want a big change! Isn't it amazing how much changing your haircolor can make you feel so different!? I suppose it's good for fall. I hardly ever dye my hair, so when I went, I told her lets just go big!
Do you ever change your hair? Any drastic color changes or do you stick close to your natural shade?

PINK HUES
I have always wanted to dye my hair a soft pastel pink or get pink highlights. Although I have had my hair dyed here and there through the years, I have never been brave enough to actually take the plunge.
When I was working, it wouldn't have been professional. I've also had a fear of it looking ridiculous or now that I'm a stay at home mom and don't have to worry as much about professionalism with my five and one year old, I have to worry if it might be strange showing up at school things with pink hair. Oh, what's a girl to do?

Maybe one day I'll just go for it, but for now I'll just admire it from afar!

Would you ever dye your hair a more unnatural color? Do you like pastel shades or neons? I also think a soft lilac is so pretty!

Bang Bang Bang Bang.....
Hello ladies! So I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. I'm just trimming the length, because I'm still growing out my hair, but I wanted some type of change, so I decided I'm getting full out bangs. I've had side bangs for a while, but I haven't had full out straight bangs since high school. I'm hoping it turns out ok. I figured it's a good way to change my look without cutting off a lot of length. These are some of the looks I'm loving right now, and what I plan on showing my hairdresser. What do you think? Good? Bad? I hope it turns out!

Tried A New Do & Won A Giveaway Too!
Hello ladies! Do you remember the upside down braided bun I showed you sometime last week? Well I decided to give it a try. Take a look at the original:

Mine didn't turn out near as lovely! I'm usually pretty good at french braids, but I must admit braiding upside down, working up is quite tricky! I feel that it would turn out much better if someone else does it for you.
So I wouldn't go out with my hair like this! I do plan on giving it another try though. It was also around 10 at night, and my bun didn't look as smooth as hers. Have you ever given a new hair trend or cut a try and had it turn out a little less then ideal?
I also wanted to share with you girls that I recently won a giveaway from the fabulous Mimi from What Mimi Writes! It was a yummy cookie giveaway! How fun is that?! The cookies were from Mile End Bakery
. I got to choose a dozen cookies! Sadly I wasn't able to enjoy them because of my nut allergy, but they were more than hapay to send my husband cookies of his choice. He chose 1/2 peanut butter and 1/2 oatmeal cranberry! Doesn't that sound delicious! My husband said they were amazing, and they certainly looked it! Take a look!
My husband really enjoyed both cookies but he especially loved the oatmeal cranberry ones! Definitely check them out! Well that's all for now but I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Pinks, Blues, and Yellows too
Hey Girls!
I was wondering what you've been thinking about a certain trend that seems to becoming more and more popular as of late. Bright colored highlights/streaks throughout ones hair. Not you normal hues of blonde and caramels, but blues and pinks, and neon yellows.
Is this a trend you see yourself following? Or just enjoying from a far?
Take a look at some of the most recent celebrities to take the hair plunge!

Katy Perry opted for the all over pink this month |
But back late 2010 she tried out a rainbow of colors in her dark hair.
![]() |
Which look of hers do you like best? |
![]() |
Kate Bosworth has recently change her blonde hair blue but only on the ends! |
![]() |
Lauren Conrad also added a few blue streaks to her ends as well! A little less noticeable though then Kate's. |
![]() |
Dianna Argon covered most of her blonde hair in bright pink. She recently tweeted it was for work though. So not something she did on her own accord. |
![]() |
Lady Gaga has never been afraid of color. But really what has she ever been afraid of? |
One surprising bold hair color move I did love for sure, wasn't recently, but rather back in 2007, when Rachel McAdams showed up at a premiere with pink streaks in her blonde hair. Do you remember that? It actually really worked on her!
Do you like any of these looks? Is this a trend you plan on trying out yourself? Or are you not really liking this bold new hair trend??

Outfit Post: Tough Boots, Soft Lace
I realize my outfits posts haven't been anything spectacular lately. I blame it mainly on all the nasty snow and bad weather. I mean, really, who wants to go out in a cute skirt/dress, in heels, in freezing cold temps and several inches of snow!? Even if I attempted this, one heel in the snow, I'd sink.....not so much fun! I'm sure you girls near my area, know what I'm talking about! : )
Thankfully spring is just around the corner, and warmer weather, with no snow is weeks away! I really can't wait to break out all my skirts and dresses, and beautiful heels that get ignored most of winter! I'm definitely envious of those of you who don't have to deal with a bad winter, and enjoy warmer, nicer weather, all year long!
Oh and taking outfit pictures outside around beautiful scenery is something else I'm longing for! My house isn't really all that exciting, background wise. I miss the parks, bridges, and flowers etc! Can you tell I'm tired of winter? lol I hope I don't sound like I'm ranting! : P
lace top and black tank: Charlotte Russe, Jeans: F21, Boots: arget |
On another note can you tell my hair is actually growing?! I've really started to notice some length coming back..... Which I'm grateful for because I miss my long hair so badly! I will never take it for granted again!
For those of you that are newer followers, or don't remember, here's a picture of when I first got my hair cut, and back when I was mixing things up color wise! That's the shortest of ever had my hair. So you can see it has grown out some, right? : )
But here's the long blonde hair I've been missing lately.....
Oh, to look back. Isn't it funny how we never really appreciate things until there gone sometimes. I just remember at that point I was getting so antsy with my hair and wanting a change, and then finally one day I got the courage to finally do it. Now several months later, I miss the hair I had in the fist place. Oh, the irony! Have you girls ever encountered this problem?
I'm going to let my hair grow back out to what it used to be, and hopefully it won't take forever, but I'm sure it will! It was chopped in July, and it's grown some, so we will see.
Anyway, have a lovely afternoon girls!

Outfit Post: All About the Hair
Hello girls!
How is your Sunday going so far? I hope all is well, and that the weather isn't so bad where you live! We just got back from church. It was a good service. I've got a couple of photos to share with you. The other day my husband and I were going out with some friends for dinner, and I thought it would be fun to take the time to do more with my hair then just blow dry and straighten, so I brought out the rarely used curling iron!!
Ta da!
I'm wearing red lipstick too! Which never happens....well hardly anyway....I applied bath and body work's red velvet cake lipgloss over the lipstick too. Which resulted in a look that I preferred.
Most of you have seen this outfit before, so nothing that exciting, but I do offer something new in the photo below.........my famous white socks! :) We were in such a hurry to run out the door, I didn't even think about putting on my boots before taking the photos!
So what to you think?
Is curled hair a do?
Or a don't?
Does it look too little bo peepish? lol
It does take a while to completely curl my hair, so that's why I hardly ever do it. I never have the time! How about you? Do you just do the same everyday routine like me? And then every once in a while, spice things up with a new hair-do?
Wearing:
Top: LC Lauren Conrad (Kohl's)
Black Belt: LC Lauren Conrad (Kohl's and from a dress)
Skinny Jeans: F21
Anything exciting happen this weekend? Any fun events you got to attend? Are you going to be watching the big game today? The Superbowl! Unfortunately my husband's team, The Bears, lost against Green Bay Packers, to determine which team would be going to the Superbowl! So close! We don't really have a team we are rooting for now. But it's always fun to watch and see the commercials. Plus my dad and two brothers will be coming over to watch the big game later on today. That's about all we have planned.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to do with your Sunday!

If I Had An Afro
You're probably wondering what on earth I'm talking about, or where I'm headed with this girls....
I do infact have something amazing to show you! I came across this gorgeous spread that was originally published in Elle's September 2010 issue. Titled: New York State of Mind. If I had an afro, this is what I would want it to look like:
Laurie Bartley photographed by Georgie Badiel looks so stunning doesn't she?? I know I could never pull off an afro hair do but she most certainly does! And the way the photographer captured New York and the lighting in all the photos, just breathtaking! My favorites are probably the first and last photos. The outfits in those two are very sleek and stylish! How about you?? Any favorites?? For more photos from this spread can be found here.
I hope you girls are having a relaxing Sunday and enjoying the last day of the weekend! Did you do anything fun or exciting?? It was a pretty basic weekend for my husband and I. Filled with reading and coffee and the warmth of the indoors. Can't complain!

Are You A Hairy Girl?
No it's not what you think!
I'm interested to know if any of you are lovers of the new trend popping up on heels, clothes and bags. Any of you wanting to get hairy??
Take these Yves Saint Laurent shoes for example:
The full fledged hairy ones will cost you $1,070! Would you take the plunge??
Between just adding hair to random items and using faux fur or even real fur, being hairy seems to be pretty popular for fall.
The runway had a huge array of furry/hairy items in the fall 2010 shows:
How about Altuzarra's take on the runway:
Lanvin was definitely going all out as well!
Roland Mouret had an interesting twist on this trend:
Versace decided to use a pop of color!
Giorgio Armani wasn't afraid of color either:
Balenciaga's used odd placing for an eye catching look.
Chanel had it's way with this trend as well. Check out those shaggy boots!!
Celebrity whose embraced being out right hairy:
Non other than Lady Gaga, who over the past year has sported hairy items a time or two. Take a look:
Here she is head to toe in hair!
What do you girls think? Will you add "hair extensions" to your shoes or handbags? Or buy a sweater or coat for fall with faux fur or hair added?? Is this a trend you see yourself being a part of? Or possibly running in the opposite direction?!
I myself, am not too impressed with this look. I'm sure some may look pretty sporting this look, but I know it's just not for me! I'm definitely not a Hairy/Furry Girl!!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful afternoon!
