Scarves: Find One Best Suited For You

Hello girls!  How's your Wednesday going??  I hope all is well!  Sadly, Indiana keeps piling on the snow, and I know we aren't the only state faced with chilly days and bitter cold nights.  Ready for spring yet?  I know I sure am!

Hopefully today's post will help get you through the cold, or at least help you look stylish, while doing so!  A key accessory one should have this time of year is a scarf.  Many of you might already have one or two in your closet, maybe even a dozen, (with some out there being so reasonably priced).  It doesn't hurt to add a few more to your collection.  With going out in this weather, most of us have to wear a winter coat, and a lot of the time this limits us showing off our own personal style.  A scarf is an easy and fabulous way of adding a special touch to that winter coat of yours.  Plus it helps in keeping you warm!

I've put scarves into three categories for you.  I think breaking them down into categories is a helpful way to show you different types/styles and how you can wear them.

Group #1
THE WARM COMFYS

Any of the scarves from this group would be a perfect choice for those of us who are having to endure this bitter winter!  Solid colors can be paired with almost any coat or sweater.  Fun printed ones are out there as well and can add that extra pop to any outfit.  Ashley Tisdale wears both the patterned and solid colored ones well, don't you think?  I'm loving the Scandinavain Pattern Knit Scarf, which is the gray one with the white  hearts.  So cute! And the Camel Knot Tassel Knit scarf from Topshop is a great shade! What's your favorite?

Group #2
THE WRAP AROUNDS

These types of scarves have really become properly in the past year or so.  I have a echo leopard print one, which I adore!  It looks pretty similar to the leopard print one featured in this set.  I love how you can wrap it around as little or as much as you like.  Leaving it longer or wrapping it around completely!  Mine definitely keeps my neck warm!  Although I'm not a big fan of Lindsay Lohan, I think both her and Kim Kardashian look great in their scarves!  My favorite from the bunch is probably the Snowflake Ski Snood, but I also like the Circle scarf of Life in White.  Which ones are you eyeing?

Group #3
THE LIGHTWEIGHTS

H&M Shop Online
Marc Jacobs Magnolia-print cotton scarf, $250
Matthew Williamson Leopard-print wool-blend scarf, $495
Bottega Veneta Ombré cashmere and silk-blend scarf, $470
Missoni Crochet-knit zigzag scarf, $800
Yves Saint Laurent Leopard-print wool and cashmere-blend scarf, $995
H&M Shop Online
ZEBRA PRINT HANDKERCHIEF, $40
Navy Floral Scarf, $20
All by Alexander McQueen | NET-A-PORTER.COM, 353 GBP
Neutral leopard wool scarf, 20 GBP
Midnight Clear Acrylic Snowflake Ornament- Jaclyn Smith Today-Outdoor..., $2.24
Nicole Richie Style and Fashion - Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf on...
Black Patent Mac Strip

This group is better suited for those of you who live in a warmer area.   Although they look good on everybody, these are made of lighter material so they aren't going to help too much in keeping you warmer.  They will certainly keep you stylish though! For those of us who are experiencing a bad winter, you can still buy these, just maybe wait to wear them until spring.

Nicole Richie is one of the best at sporting chic scarves.  She's got the look down!   I am drawn to the animal print ones and the Missoni Crochet Knit zigzag scarf is amazing as well! Could you imagine spending $800 on a scarf though??  I know I couldn't!! Which one would you buy, if price wasn't an issue?

Well, girls, I hope this scarf post was helpful and maybe you spotted one or two you have to go out and buy!  I'm still on that shopping ban, trying hard to make use of what I already own, and stop spending money on things I don't necessarily need, but mainly just really want!  It's tough!

Have a wonderful day!!

Sweater Weather

Hello Girls!  I hope everyone has been having a fabulous week so far!  I have pictures to share with you from the vacation but I'm going to save that for another day.  Today I would like to get back to fashion!  This is indeed a fashion blog! Sometimes I get a little distracted! :)

Now, I don't know about you, but here in Indiana, the weather is bitter cold!  All I can think about is being bundled up in a warm sweater!  I'd like it even more if I never had to go outside this winter, and could just stay in curled up in a bulky sweater, with a good book, and a hot drink, like hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee, tea, pretty much anything hot at this point will do!  Doesn't that just sound lovely??  Sadly, work and life in general doesn't allow that, but a girl can dream anyway!

And although, I've gone on a shopping ban in the new year, I can still look at all the amazing comfy sweater options out there, and maybe help you girls find something you like!  So here it goes.  I've broken sweaters, for this time of year, into 3 categories

The first one being:
COMFY CARDIGANS:

.
Oh I would love to be wrapped up in any of these right now!  My favorites are the center three, the light cream colored Natural Aran cardigan, the MyShape- Karen Kane-Sequined-Dolman-Sleeve Cardigan, and the Strickjacke, which is the one with the bow!  Aren't those amazing??!

Which ones are you eyeing?

Onto category #2:
BOLD PRINTED SWEATERS

Taylor Swift has been seen sporting cute sweaters with fun bold prints on them!  I love the ones with the bows, as well as the Karl Lagerfield sweaters!  How fun!  Also the leopard print ones look so cute and comfy!  They would look great paired with leggings or tights, as well as skinny jeans!

The Last category, #3:
PATTERNED KNITS

I just love Blake Lively's twelfth Street By Cynthia Vincent Blanket Sweater!  I wouldn't mind wearing a "blanket" out in the cold, if it looked as stylish as that!  These, almost like tribal printed, knitted sweaters are everywhere this season, so be sure to find one that suits your style!

So girls, will you be shopping for any sweaters that fall into these categories?  Anyone in particular catch your attention??  What have you been doing to get by during this dreadful weather??

Anyway, have a wonderful afternoon!!!

ROCK GLAM

I haven't done a polyvore set in a while so I thought I would go check things out!  I immediately fell in love with the Lanvin Jeweled Nyota Shoulder Bag!  It's definitely glamorous but with an edge to it!  The price is a bit edgy as well, $2.890 at Barney's!!!  Talk about living on the edge!  I could never spend that much money on a bag!  Could you??  I don't normally go for the rocker look but I thought it would be fun to revolve a glamorous version around this purse.  I drew on the red and black in the shoulder bag and brought out some of the gold too!  Would you wear any of these items??
First Row (from left to Right):
$985 - barneys.com
Second Row:
$2,890 - barneys.com
Third Row:
$805 - jades24.com
Wouldn't these heels look amazing with one of the looks above?

They are Alexander McQueen of course!
What's your favorite item from this collection?  Do you like the difference between the appearance of a collection vs. a set?  Or maybe you might not have noticed. lol

This is a busy weekend for me.  I'm going to have to have this post get you girls through the weekend!  Hopefully I have time to at least read a few of your blogs, but not much time for posting!  The Holiday Tea is Saturday so the weekend revovles around that.  Exciting and fun but also exhausting as well!  I will be back Monday or Tuesday, if for some reason I can get on sooner I most definitely will!  Do you girls have any special plans this weekend? I hope you have a wonderful time with whatever you do!

Think Pink!

Okay so since Valentine's Day is approaching I felt the need to do a set on Polyvore with an appropriate theme for the occasion: Pink!! When searching pink items up on Polyvore I came across some amazing finds! Pink is my favorite color, so I guess I'm a goner for it anyway, but these dresses and other pieces are gorgeous aren't they!! My favorite is the center pink strapless dress with the bow!! So precious! It's labeled as "a unique boutique sequin dress-Very". Too bad the price tag is $280!!! A girl came dream though!!

Items in this set:
Just Cavalli Stretch-satin corset dress, $520
MANOLITA WATLIN STRAPLESS SILK DRESS PINK SILK -, 295 GBP
Vila Bjork Dress, 16 GBP
Unique Boutique sequin dress - Very, 175 GBP
V-Neck Flex Tee - Teen Clothing by Wet Seal, $9.50

The Dior pallet is beautiful as well! And those sunglasses are fun! You don't have to be head to toe in pink, but even adding a little bit to your outfit for Valentine's day won't hurt you!!

What do you think? What do you like from the set?? Even if you aren't all into pink there has to be something here you might wear? Let me know! Also, while we are on the topic of Valentine's Day are any of you doing anything special for the big day?

Darkened Glamor

Items in this set:
Herve Leger Color-block bandage dress, $1,150
ALEXANDER WANG, 90 EUR
Fringe Chained Top, $18
H&M Shop Online
Forever21.com - Bottoms - Skirts - 2074318200, $20

To check out the other items just click on the set! Kirsten Stewart has this rough type of glamor going for her! Her style has really evolved since she has become a bigger celebrity. She's embraced becoming more girly and dressing up in beautiful dresses but she still has that tough feel to it. A smoky, mysterious attitude. It's nice to see her not completely change into what the media is used to seeing. She's kept her edge!!

What do you think about the set? Do you like any of the items featured in this set? Do you embrace your tough side? Or maybe your girly side if your more like Kirsten Stewart to begin with? Or is that a side of you people hardly ever see?

Lady Like No Other

So I was feeling inspired by Lady Gaga while on Polyvore. I hope you like these sets! Her style is wacky and unique, bold and yet sometimes girly . I thought these pieces seemed like her style. What do you think? Did I get these right? And of course she is notorious for her gloves!!

She's A Lady

So still getting settled in our new home! Painting takes forever, and gets tiresome but we are very happy though! It's nice knowing that this house belongs to us, we can decorate it however we went, unlike at the apartment. It's also the place we will one day raise our kids. It's unbelievable to think about. Thankfully we have been blessed with being able to buy a home in this economy, God has been looking out for us. I hope you too feel blessed in one way or another in your life. Look for the good things, life isn't always easy, that's for sure, but most of us have it easier then a lot people out there, and we shouldn't take that for granted! Be thankful for the jobs you have, because so many people would love to have a stable pay check but aren't fortunate enough. Be thankful for the roof above your head, as many people out there seek refuge in places we would never sleep in......
Just be happy and gracious and kindhearted, reach out to those in need, because you never know when you might be the person in need of a helpful hand

I didn't intend to go into that, I guess it was just something on my mind. Quite a turn from Lady Gaga!

Take Me off a piece of That.....

So I must admit I do not own bathing suits like these three.....I'm not sure how comfortable I would be in these type of bathing suits, but I must admit I think the center one is adorable!!! And it's from alloy so it's pretty reasonable in price! The all black one looks a bit too revealing for my taste, at least in the picture. Don't get me wrong I do wear a two piece bikini in the summer, but it covers me well in the places that need to be covered.....if you know what I'm saying.....the black suit here looks like it may not lol And the all pink one I just thought was interesting because I had never seen a bathing suit cut like that. The color and the bows are cute! All of this just reminds me of how badly I need a tan!!! I hope to achieve one this summer!!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful day!!

V is For Vanessa!

So I really like what Vanessa Hudgens wears. Every time her picture is taken, whether it's at a special event or just on the street, she always looks good! Her hair is gorgeous, and she has great fashion sense!!!
Below, is just a mix of pinks I gathered on polyvore, inspired by this picture I came across of Vanessa Hudgens. Also, Vanessa is set to star in a movie titled Beastly, which is a modern day version of Beauty and the Beast, so I'm sure that will be good!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Prepped For School

Inspired by clothes worn at prep schools, I bring you this!!! Although I didn't go to a prep school, I would wear some of these pieces!!! I think most of it is cute! I attended a Christian school from 7th to 12th grade, it was a college preparatory school, but I wouldn't consider it an actual prep school, nothing like the school they attend in Gossip Girl! That's for sure! I want the blazer, the polo, and the pink sweater! The flats are precious! Oh, and I'd wear the skirt!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Gold Rush!!

The tank and belt are both from Forever 21, so I can afford those. The other items, however, are way out of my price range!! Sadly! I really love that skirt though! All of these gold pieces are beautiful I think! I also think I need a nice tan to wear them!!! lol

That very reason is probably why I don't own any gold colored clothes, I hope this summer I can change that!!
